Title: Advance in Methodology of Human Development Index
Abstract: This paper explores the recent advances in Human development measuring methodology along with detail explanation of recent changes made in 2010 HDI new methodology, why these changes are made? What impact falls on the index value? These are some fundamental questions which are tried to answer in this paper and tried to measure relationship between growth and indices of human development in India. Hypothetically, it assumes that economic growth is likely to advance human development as the resource base expands, while higher human development generates greater economic growth and more educated people contribute to enhanced economic growth. For investigating the process and changes in indices of human development compared with India’s GNI growth rate over the period 1990 to 2014. The measure of HDI under new methodology shows that the GNI per capita indices attains excellent growth but the impact on human development index is low compare to life expectancy indices.
