Title: Compensation of Delay in Real-Time HILS for Aerospace Systems
Abstract: The sub-systems of aerospace vehicle can be developed and tested using a platform known as hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS). All flight subsystems of vehicle are introduced in HILS test bed for their performance evaluation in real-time scenario. The HILS results are suffering with unwanted diverging oscillations, which limit the HILS test bed effectiveness in evaluating the actual performance of embedded systems of aerospace vehicle. It is found that the oscillations are due to time delay introduced in HILS test bed. This paper describes the analysis of the delay in HILS results and available delay compensation methods. The suitable delay compensation method was implemented to achieve actual HILS results without unwanted delay effect.
