Title: Morphology and Network Patterns of Martian Valleys
Abstract: The erosional origin of Martian valleys is briefly discussed. The absence of streamlined obstacles and interior channels, the steep and rugged walls and flat floors, and the presence of steep-walled, cuspate amphitheater terminations and sparse, open networks, argue against erosion by rainfall and surface flow and in favor of erosion by subsurface water.
