Title: POS-249 PARATHYROIDECTOMY: DOES IT REDUCE CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN HEMODIALYSIS?
Abstract: Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a major complication in chronic hemodialysis associated with cardiovascular risk and significant morbidity and mortality. It has the potential to provoke renal osteodystrophy, hypertension, cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, insulin resistance, and calcium phosphate deposition in the vessel wall. The aim of our study is to determinate the impact of parathyroidectomy on cardiovascular risk in hemodialysis.
