Title: NADZOR DISTRIBUIRANIH MICROSOFT SQL POSLUŽITELJA
Abstract: This paper describes the concept of centralized monitoring of different, mutually independent Microsoft SQL servers. A practical example shows the procedure for installing SQL Server on virtual machines based on Windows server operating systems. The process of installing and configuring SQL Server is described, as well as a SQL Server maintenance plan creation and installation and configuration of SentryOne monitoring tools. The tool for monitoring and managing a large number of SQL servers from one location in practical application is a necessary solution to the problem of job optimization and significant time savings. Quality control shortens the time needed to identify the causes of operational difficulties and plan the necessary system upgrades. Test examples show an effective way to take advantage of the tool. The system administrator is notified of the event shortly after an unexpected condition occurs on any monitored server, either directly by accessing the SentryOne control panel or via an automated email generated from the SentryOne database. At the beginning of the paper, a description is given of the reasons for the introduction of central control over SQL servers and an overview of general concepts about SQL server. The installation and configuration of the SQL server is then described. The installation and configuration of the SentryOne monitoring tool is then described with a few practical examples. The final chapter describes the use of created SQL scripts to monitor SQL server parameters.
