Abstract: To the Editor: The recent special article Assessment: Neuropsychological testing of adults. Considerations for neurologists, represents a welcome recognition of the role of neuropsychological assessment in neurologic diagnoses. Unfortunately, the attempt falls short in factual accuracy and conceptual integration, reflecting a woeful lack of knowledge of both the content and practice of neuropsychology. Having served as president of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the American Psychological Association Division of Neuropsychology, and the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, I am confident that these organizations could and would have provided suggestions, guidance, or commentary to enhance the accuracy of the article had they been afforded such an opportunity. A brief look at the first half dozen headings under Technical Issues in Neuropsychological Assessment will, it is hoped, help elucidate the sorts of egregious problems confronting the neurologist …
