Title: Association between neutrophil lymphocyte ratio and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the correlation between neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke(AIS). Methods: The routine laboratory hematology tests, including white blood cell(WBC) count, neutrophil, lymphocyte and NLR, of 60 AIS patients and 61 healthy individuals were retropectively reviewed. The association between these tests and modified Rankin scale(m RS) was analyzed by Spearman approach. Results: Increased WBC, neutrophil and NLR(all P values 0.01), but decreased lymphocyte(P0.01), were observed in AIS patients. These indices were was correlated with the m RS at discharge. NLR had highest correlation coefficient. Conclusion: NLR was a useful index in predicting the prognosis of AIS, with the closest correlation among WBC, neutrophil and lymphocyte.
