Title: The Structure of the poetic text In Abi Mihjan Al-Thaqafi Divan Artistic and Semantic Study
Abstract: This research drives its legitimacy from the ego of the poet/ Abi Mihjan AL-Thaqafi in
content through the approach of (The Structure of Poetic Text in the Poetical Works of Abi Mihjan AlThaqafi -Significant Artistic Study). He is the poet who hasn’t got his worthy rank whether in ancient
or odern critical studies all alike, even though the masters of the ancient Arab criticism have
recognized his talent and the quality of his poems. This has motivated the researcher to consider his
poetry with the purpose of identifying the characteristics of his poetic discourse in the domains of
the artistic structure of the ancient Arab poem and the poetry of Abi Mihjan Al-Thaqafi as its
significant model.
Then, the researcher has approached the essence and the conception of a number of key
terms in his research in such an important theatrical preface so that he can practice the poetic
experience of Abi Mihjan in its light. These terms are: the text in general and the poetic text in
particular, the structure in general and the poetic structure in particular in both Arab, Western,
ancient and modern discourses. These conceptual approaches have revealed the problematic
feature of these terms to the researcher whether in their originally western environment or within
the Arab critical environment to which they have shifted. However, this hasn’t prevented the
researcher from considering a lot of theoretical principles and procedural mechanisms that are
related to the poetic text in such an artistic structure and different indications that are varied
according to various structures that cooperatively contribute to the formation of the whole poetic
text structure.
The researcher has pointed out the poetic style in his study through examining, observing
and analyzing the characteristics of rhetoric structure and identifying these figurative and rhetorical
styles that express his mood and his social positions. This accounts for the domination of
embodiment and personification over the rhetoric of his poetic discourse. Then the researcher has
crowned structures as a whole with the study of the semantic structure of Abi Mihjan poetry through
observing these semantic fields that collaborate with each other for the formation of semantic
dimensions of his poem.
This significance is evident in the poetic works of Abi Mihjan Al-Thaqafi in two aspects: the
first one is the explicit significance which has revealed to the researcher the domination of the
phenomenon of obviousness over ambiguity via identifying the poetic character in expressing his self
experiences in existence that overlapped with the current position of his community personality in
both pre-Islamic and Islamic eras before it ends with expressing the human personality. This
accounts for, in the researcher point of view, the limitation of affectation in return for the
domination of mood, the dense existence of personal discourse other than the supremacy of
sensible perception over mental and intuitive perceptions within the rhetoric eloquence arts.
This signifies that the poetry of Abi Mihjan has been subjective in procession, social in
tendency, with human dimensions in its significance. After it has been of various modes in its artistic
structure or in structures more accurately, this variance in structure has resulted in richness in
significance.
