Title: RHETORICAI ANALYSIS OF QURANIC EVIDENCE IN VIEWPOINT OF DEYA’ULDEEN IBN ALATHEER (637H)
Abstract: This study aims to highlight the rank of the Quranic Evidence in viewpoint of Ibn Al-Atheer, and recognize his approach in rhetoric analysis. To this aim, the researcher has employed the analytical descriptive approach.
This study comes in three chapters preceded by an introduction and prelude; and ends with a conclusion summarizing the most important findings concluded by the study as follows.
- Introduction: In this introduction, the concept of Evidence (emergence and employment) between grammar and rhetoric is shown. An overview about Ibn Al-Atheer and his book “Al-Mathal Al-Sa’er” and the rank of Quranic Evidence in viewpoint of Ibn Al-Atheer were also presented.
- Chapter 1: is concerned with the study of aesthetic principles of vocabulary of Quranic Evidence in viewpoint of Ibn Al-Atheer. Chapter 1 has four topics as follows: Single Vocabulary in view of form, definition and being indefinite, vocabulary in view of its context, reference and omission.
- Chapter 2: is concerned with the aesthetic principles of structures in the Quranic Evidence in viewpoint of Ibn Al-Atheer. Chapter 2 has four topics as follows: Predicate Reference, Predicate and Phraseology, Separation and Engagement, Condensation and Expatiation
- Chapter 3: is concerned with the effect of artistic picture of rhetorical appreciation of Quranic Evidence in viewpoint of Ibn Al-Atheer. Chapter 3 has four topics as follows: Hypallage, Simile, Metaphor, Metonymy and Intimation.
The study concluded with a number of findings as follows:
- Ibn Al-Atheer was concerned with the applicable side through analyzing several Quranic Evidences to discover the aspects of miraculous nature in these evidences.
- Ibn Al-Atheer employed the approach of inference prior to setting out the basics
- Personality of Ibn Al-Atheer appeared through opposition to several rhetoricians such as Al-Zamakhshari, Al-Ghazali and others.
- Ibn Al-Atheer's employment of Quranic Evidences was diversified, he explained and analyzed at times, and he mentioned as examples only and other times.
- Ibn Al-Atheer was influenced by Abd Al-Qahir Al-Jurjani and Al-Zamakhshari in his analysis to evidences.
- Ibn Al-Atheer studied a lot of rhetorical forms without devoting a special chapter for them.
- Ibn Al-Atheer wasn’t always skillful in the analysis of Quranic Evidences.
- Ibn Al-Atheer's study for some rhetorical forms were not detailed, however his analysis was not deep.
- Ibn Al-Atheer's divisions for some phenomenon were many and imprecise.

Study the aspects of Ibn al-Atheer's influence by Abd Al-Qahir Al-Jurjani in his book Al Dala'al (Evidences).
Study the aspects of Ibn al-Atheer's influence by Al-Zamakhshari in his interpretation to Al-Kashaf.
