Title: Overcoming Challenges of Women Entrepreneurship in Bahrain: Evidence from the Events Planning Sector
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to investigate the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs' in the event planning sector in Bahrain and how those challenges affect their success. It focuses mainly on five challenges: Social Constraints, Family Commitments, Market Competition, Governmental Regulations, and Interpersonal Skills. These challenges can be faced by women regardless of the field they operate in. This study used a mixed approach quantitative and qualitative approach and two types of data primary and secondary data. For collecting the data, the researcher used surveys and semi-structured interviews. Therefore, the researcher collected 105 survey respondents out of 356 companies, using simple random sampling and interviewed five women entrepreneurs. The researcher used percentage, frequencies, descriptive analysis, regression, and ANOVA analysis to analyze the finding. It was revealed that several challenges are encountered by women entrepreneurs in Bahrain during start-up and running their business, such as family commitment, market competition, and high rate of electricity bills and rent expenses. The results also revealed that Market competition and Governmental Regulations have a significant influence on women's entrepreneurial success, while Social Constraints, Family Commitments, Interpersonal Skills do not have a significant influence on women's entrepreneurial success.
