Abstract: For typical American male workers, there has been no general rise in wages since the late 1960s, with only short periods of modest improvement. The poor performance of male wages and salaries may explain some, and perhaps much of the political frustration in America, which shows up in reduced respect for so many American institutions, and a seeming anger at redistribution policies.
