Since poetry is discovering existence through words, contemporary poets are fully aware of a new aspect in life, followed by a revealed new language with a new style. Hence the language of contemporary poetry differed from the language of the ancient poetry. Furthermore, the poetic experience is full of many new artistic phenomena, most notably the use of symbols. The symbol with its different kinds is the son of subconscious and the secretion of what it stores. When the freedom of expression of what was hidden in the mind of the poet was found in poetry, it gained the majority of the modern poetry audience. The Saudi poetry which is part of the Arabic poetry is affected with what is new. Symbols infiltrated through Saudi poetry directly or are creatively employed, and it went through different stages starting from naive simplicity to the formation of the symbol. Changing its original meaning and creating it in a contemporary environment. Many poets used it one after another, for example; Mohammed Hasan Awad, Mohammed Hasan Fagi, Hasan Abdullah Al-Gorashi, Dr.Ghazi Al-Gasabi, Sa’ad Al-Hameden, Ahmed Saleh Al-Saleh (Traveler) and others. It adds depth and roots to the context. This research also leads us to discovering the kinds of symbols that Al-Saleh used and how he managed to obtain it from its original nature and give it a new function, which adds a trait of novelty and innovation. Then, he puts it in a poem that holds a new significant and presence. And how the environment he lived in and the events he experienced helped in creating these symbols. In addition, to his study of history, we observe its impact on the wealth acquired by the historical symbol. The result provided by this research is that Al-Saleh represented excellent poems.
