Abstract: The relationship between science and mathematics has existed at least since Archimedes used geometry to establish the science of statics. Even the formerly descriptive biological sciences now use mathematics extensively, and some of this has filtered down to the high schools where students in the “new” biology are using the concepts of statistical sampling and logarithmic growth curves.
