It overviews some of the current issues that pertain to the features of Asian Englishes. The chapter also discusses theoretical and methodological considerations, which aims to highlight current theorizations of feature studies in the Asian context. This is followed by a discussion of the morphosyntactic features of certain Asian English varieties, where current research on the features of Asian Englishes is examined. The chapter explores the notion of vernacular universals across Asian English varieties. It examines the large-scale typology, as well as variations, in various Asian English varieties, which includes a geographical dimension in the discussion of Asian Englishes features. The chapter provides a brief discussion of potential future areas for investigation regarding the typology.
