Title: Effects of potassium: Hydroxide/ammonium hydroxide treatment on cotton fabric extract
Abstract: The paper presents the effects of the modification of cotton fabrics by combined alkaline, potassium and ammonium hydroxide, treatment . Usually this procedure is mainly used in slightly modified form for properties related to the strength, wear resistance, surface effects, changes in the fine structure, dyeing and more. Successive action of potassium and ammonium hydroxide caused a change in the weight of fabric, sorption characteristics, size, and dying. Water absorption is increased, moistering is faster, dimensions are stabilized, dye is more quickly received by the fabric (without any wetting agent used) etc.
