Title: An investigation on infection to family paramphstomatidae incattle and buffalo in Ardabil slaughter house
Abstract: This study was carried out for determining infection to parasites of family
paramphistimatidae in cattle and buffalo in Ardabil slaughter house in the period of 2006-07. After
slaughter age and genus of animals was recorded and rumen surface and initial surface of small
intestine were inspected. In the case of infection, number and site of infection was recorded.
Parasites preserved in protective solution and transferred to laboratory of parasitology, faculty
of veterinary medicine, Urmia University for identification. After preparing longitude sections,
samples were stained with stained with hematoxylin and eosin by routine staining methods. Parasites
were identified with longitude sections, muscle characterize via identical keys. In this study 400
cattle and 400 buffaloes were inspected. The results were indicated that inspected animals infected
to Paramphistomum spp, Cotylophoron cotylophorum and Gastrothylax crominofer. Out of 400 studied
cattle 20 cattle (11 female and 9 male), were infected to parasites. The results also indicated
that 30, 5, 20, 25, 10 and 10 percent of infected cattle are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 years old
respectively. There were not found and buffaloes infected
samples in present study.
