Abstract: Inhaled steroids may help reduce the risk of asthma hospitalization, a Harvard Medical School study showed. Researchers conducted a general population study of 16,941 persons admitted to the hospital for asthma at least once over a three-year period. Asthma drugs administered were defined as inhaled or pediatric oral preparation of β-agonist (including anticholinergics), inhaled corticosteroid, inhaled cromolyn, and oral theophylline.
