Abstract: Across the United States, utility companies rely on power generated from long distances to provide power for cities and customers. System stability is a tremendous effort that requires strong physical infrastructure and requires ways to monitor and protect the power systems over long distances and varying terrain. This article researches power system protection and models a typical power system using Real Time Digital Simulator, RSCAD, and SEL 311-L relays.
