Title: $Visioning Augustine. By John C. Cavadini
Abstract: This volume, the latest in the distinguished series Challenges in Contemporary Theology edited by Lewis Ayres and Gareth Jones, gathers essays that span from 1992 to 2014. All have been published previously, yet Cavadini (and his student Mark Therrien) have done a great service by gathering them into one collection. Cavadini has been a pivotal player in Augustinian studies for more than twenty five years, but he has not published a monograph on Augustine until now. These essays have been edited only lightly to update notes and bibliography, and they have not been organized in any systematic way; they are presented chronologically, and each stands on its own.
