The Cambro-Ordovician ...Abstract The Paleozoic basin of Tassilis Oua-n-Ahaggar is shallow and cut by faults of great length and throw into horst-and-graben structure with general orientation northward. The Cambro-Ordovician formations are chiefly sandstone and conglomerate totalling more than 500 m. The Silurian is graptolite shales up to 300 m thick. The Devonian is principally sandstone and shale, with some limestone. The upper Devonian is transgressive. The lowermost Carboniferous is identical to upper Devonian, chiefly clastic but overlain by Carboniferous marine limestone rich in brachiopods. Dikes and sills of altered dolerite of Hercynian (?) age cut the pre-Devonian formations.Read More
