Title: Therapeutic effects of different doses of omeprazole on non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding
Abstract: Objective
To compare the effects of conventional dose of omeprazole and omeprazole on patients with non-varicose upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Methods
Eighty-four patient with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding treated in Fuwai Central China Cardiovascular Hospital from April 2016 to January 2018 were randomly selected as research subjects. And they were divided into two groups by random number table method. Forty-two patients in the control group were treated with omeprazole, and 42 patients in the observation group were treated with conventional dose of omeprazole. The therapeutic effects, incidence of adverse reactions, hemostasis time, blood transfusion volume and hospital stay were compared between the two groups.
Results
The effective rate of treatment was 92.86% in the observation group, and 85.71% in the control group, however, there was no significant difference between the two group (P>0.05). The incidence of adverse reaction of the observation group (9.52%) was higher than the 26.19% of the control group (P>0.05). The hemostasis time and hospital stay of the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the blood transfusion volume in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Large-dose omeprazole in the treatment of non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding can shorten the hemostasis time and rehabilitation time, improve the overall therapeutic effects and reduce the rate of rebleeding, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
