Title: Analysis of survival of patients over 70 years-old with colorectal cancer receiving postoperative chemotherapy
Abstract: Objective To explore the survival and clinical efficacy ofcolorectal cancer cases over 70 years-old receiving postoperative chemotherapy. Methods 244 colorectal cancer cases receiving postoperative chemotherapy were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into two groups:over 70 years-old and below 70 years-old.The difference of overall survival between two groups was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method and COX proportional hazard models. Results The 5 years overall survival of two groups were 63% and 62%.No significant difference overall survival was found in two groups receiving chemotherapy. Conclusions Age is not the independent risk factor for the survival of colorectal cancer cases receiving chemotherapy. The efficacy of colorectal cancer cases over 70 years-old receiving postoperative chemotherapy is equivalent to that below 70 years-old.
