Title: The efficacy of thoracoscopic surgery for traumatic diaphragmatic rupture
Abstract: Objective To analyze the efficacy of thoracoscopic surgery for traumatic diaphragmatic rupture. Methods Thoracoscopic surgery was performed on 40 patients with traumatic diaphragmatic rupture, the procedures including transthoracic repair, transahdominal repair, abdominal and chest incision repair. Results All the patients successfully received the procedures and were discharged from hosptial with cure. Intraoperative blood loss was less, surgical duration was shorter, no serious postoperative complications occurred. Conclusions Thoracoscopic surgery for traumatic diaphragmatic rupture is minimally invasive and patients have less pain with rapid recovery. Early diagnosis, appropriate surgical procedures, and careful intraoperative exploration is the key to reducing the mortality.
