Title: Analysis of lymphocyte immunophentypes in peripheral blood of onychomycosis patients with flow cytometry
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the immunological competence in peripheral blood of the patients with onychomycosis. Methods The lymphocyte subpopalations and natural killer cells in the peripheral blood of 24 patients and a control group of 20 individuals were analysed by flow cytometry. Results The percentage of suppressor CD8+ lymphocytes in the patients were significantly higher than that in the normal controls (P < 0.05 ). No statistically significant difference was obtained in the percentages of CD3+ lymphocytes,CD4+ lymphocytes, CD19+ lymphocytes, CD16+, CD56+ lymphocytes. Conclusion CD8+ lymphocytes plays an importand role in mediating the cell mediated immunity in onychomycosis.
