Title: Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule and minors
Abstract: Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM) is a member of immunoglobulin gene superfamily. It is manily expressed in leucocytes and thymic epithelial cells. ALCAM mediates both heterophilic (ALCAM-CD6) and homophilic(ALCAM-ALCAM) cell-cell interactions. Studies show that ALCAM is highly expressed on multiple tumor cells and plays a role in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. ALCAM expression is closely correlated with several human tumors, including breast cancer, esophageal carcinoma, colon carcinoma, o-varian caneer, hepatocellular carcinoma and malignant melanoma.
