Title: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and autoimmunity
Abstract: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) is a kind of chronic disease which is related to lung abnormal inflammation against harmful gases like cigarette smoke or harmful particles.Recent research shows COPD have an autoimmune component. Anti-endothelial cell antibodies and antielastin antibodies can induce emphysema. Smoking and microbial infection also can promote autoimmune injure in lung. Shortage of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T lymphoeytes can keep inflammation progressing in lung mediated by self-reactiviated lymphocytes. This article reviews autoimmunity in COPD and provide a new clue to pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of COPD.
