Title: Comparison of the efficacy of thoracoscopic surgery and open radical resection in the treatment of esophageal cancer
Abstract: Objective
To compare the effects of thoracoscopic and open radical surgery on the complications, stress response and lymph node dissection of esophageal cancer.
Methods
A total of 116 patients with esophageal cancer admitted to thoracic and Cardiac Surgery Department of Shanxi Luan Mining Group. General Hospital from August 2014 to July 2018 were selected as the study subjects. The patints were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 58 cases in each group. The patients in the study group underwent thoracoscopic surgery, and the patients in the control group underwent open surgery (abdominal, right chest and left neck three incision surgery). The curative effect, complications, stress response and lymph node dissection were compared between the two groups.
Results
The intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage time, and hospitalization time in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P 0.05). The comparison of FT3, FT4, CRP and other indexes were compared , P>0.05. The increase of white blood cell (WBC) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and the decrease of free triiodo thyronine (FT3) and free thyroxine (FT4) levels in the postoperative study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of recent complications in the study group (12.07%) was lower than that in the control group (34.48%, P<0.05).
Conclusions
The application of thoracoscopic surgery in the treatment of esophageal cancer is conducive to ensuring the efficacy and short-term prognosis of patients.
