Title: Clinicopathologic analysis of 74 cases of primary gallbladder carcinomas
Abstract: Objective To investigate the pathological classification and clinical features of primary gallbladder carcinoma.Methods To collect 74 cases of primary gallbladder carcinomas in our hospital from 2000 to 2010.All cases were in 10% neutral formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded sections,routine HE staining.Results According to the newest tumor classification,25 patients showed adenocarcinoma with well differentiated(33.8% ),26 cases showed adenocarcinoma of intermediated differentiation(35.1% ),and 16 cases showed adenocarcinoma with poor differentiation(21.6% ),2 patients revealed squamous cell carcinoma( accouting for 2.7% ),and 3 patients showed mucinous adeno carcinoma (4.1% ),signet-ring cell carcinoma in 2 cases (2.7%).Conclusions The results showed that adenocarcinoma was the most common pathological type in gallbladder carcinoma,it always showed with high ability of infiltration and tendency of metastasis,it is difficult to diagnose before operating,the prognosis is very poor.
