Title: Advances in study of left ventricular diastolic function in coronary heart disease
Abstract: Patients with heart disease frequently have abnormalities of systolic function.However.it is now well recognized that abnormalities of diastolic function play a major role in producing the signs and symptoms of heart failure. It is important to understand and reeognise diastolic dysfunction of the heart for proper diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.Echocardiography has become the primary tool for assessment of diastolic function and left ventricular filling pressures. The purpose of this review is to summarize the advances of physiology and pathology in ventricular diastolic function, and its evaluation, diagnosis and clinical therapy.
