Title: Expression level and significance of Kiss-1 and Cox-2 in primary hepatocellular carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Kiss-1 RNA and Cox-2 RNA in primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods Expression of Kiss-1 RNA and Cox-2 RNA in normal liver tissues(10 cases), liver cirrhosis tissues(30 cases)and HCC tissues(39 cases) were detected by RT-PCR,to find the difference in their expression level and the clinical pathology parameters. Results There were no expression of Cox-2 RNA in normal group and high expression in cirrhosis group and HCC group which each other have little difference and no significance (P>0.05), but have significantly higher expression compared to normal group (P 0.05). Kiss-1 RNA expression had a high expression in normal tissues, cirrhosis tissues and HCC tissues, Kiss-1 RNA expression in HCC tissues was significantly lower than that in normal tissues and cirrhosis tissues(P 0.05).The expression of Kiss-1RNA in HCC tissues was reduced and had significant relation with TNM stage and Edmenson grade of tumor (P 0.05). Conclusions The expression of Cox-2 RNA is very high in HCC tissues maybe have no relation with invasion and metastasis;Kiss-1 RNA expression is obvious suppressed in HCC tissues, the reduced kiss-1 RNA expression maybe helpful to the invasion and metastasis of tumor. A close negative correlation between the both genes was showed(P<0.05).
