Title: Effect of improved disinfection method of reused ventilator
Abstract: Objective
To observe the improvement effect of disinfection method of multiplex ventilator.
Methods
240 ventilator ducts were collected and divided into group A, group B, and group C with random number table method. Group A and Group B were treated with available chlorine at a concentration of 500 mg / L. Group A was sterilized with a large plastic bucket. Group B was disinfected with a medical disinfection container. Group C was cleaned and disinfected by automatic cleaning and disinfection. The disinfection effects, nurses’ direct operation time, and the total time for completing the entire disinfection process in the three groups were observed.
Results
The disinfection effects were qualified in all the 3 group. The qualified disinfection rate of group B was 98.8%, which higher than that of group A (90.0%) (χ2=4.238 4, P=0.039 5) and as high as that of group C (100.0%) (χ2=1.006 3, P=0.315 8). The nurses’ direct operation time was shortest in group C and longest in group A (all P<0.001). The total time for completing the entire disinfection process was longest in group C and shortest in group B (all P<0.001).
Conclusions
Group B used medical disinfection container disinfection and reused ventilator pipeline; its operation was simple, time-saving, and effortless, its disinfection effect was good, it’s suitable for general use and primary hospital; so it is worth being generalzied.
