Title: Effect of moist healing therapy combined with hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical application of moist healing therapy combined with hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. Methods The diabetic foot ulcers were treated by moist healing therapy combined with hyperbaric oxygen based on the traditional dressing in the clinical practice in the experimental group, and the control group received the traditional dressing alone. The patient satisfaction, the rate of wound healing, the healing time and the dressing change times were evaluated and compared, and the differences were analyzed between the two groups. Results The obvious effective and effective rates of wound healing were respectively 85.7% (18 cases) and 14.3% (3 cases) in the experimental group, and 47.6% (10 cases),28.6% (6 cases) in the control group, and the invalid rate of wound healing was 23.8% (5 cases) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =5.68,P < 0.05).The healing time was (27.8 ± 3.75) d in the experimental group, and (38.6 ± 3.81) d in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t =9.2,P < 0.05).The number of dressing changes was (15.6 ± 3.45) in the experimental group, and (24.8 ± 3.62) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t =8.4,P < 0.05).The patient satisfaction was 95.4% in the experimental group, and higher than 68.9% in the control group, and difference was statistically significant (t =5.15,P < 0.05).The total effective rate was 100% in the experimental group, and 76% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusions The moist healing therapy combined with hyperbaric oxygen based on the traditional dressing for diabetic foot ulcer significantly improve the rate of wound healing, reduce the number of dressing changes and alleviate the workload of nurses. The experimental results provide the clinical evidence for reasonable application of the therapy to promote diabetic foot ulcers healing and alleviate the suffering of patients.
