Methods We utilized self- designed questionnaire to investigate forty nine operating room nurses for perioperative heat preservation related knowledge and the procedure of perioperative heat preservation executed. The questionnaire included perioperative insulation related knowledge-contained ten field investigations, and had good content validity. Results The top three part of questionnaire precision were the importance of perioperative heat preservation (95.9%), the content and method of perioperative heat preservation (83.7%) and the content and method of preoperative heat preservation(73.5% ), while the last three parts were the content and method of postoperative heat preservation(36. 7% ), the key point and importance of temperature monitor (24. 5% ) and effective evaluation of perioperative heat preservation ( 1.63 % ). Meanwhile, the top three of behavior execution survey were rinses heating and rinses overflow prevention( 1.83 ± 0.21 )scores, (1.51 ±0.23)scores, disinfection without bare skin too much:( 1.56 ± 0.19 ) scores compared bottom three-transfer patient with quilt or/and wear clothes well, pay attention on the body temperature monitoring, operation with insulation blanket on the bed. Conclusions Operating room nurses have shortcomings for perioperative heat preservation knowledge and execution. Hence, we should strengthen the related knowledge training and enhance the execution of perioperative heat preservation procedures.
