Title: Corrosion Inhibition and Adsorption Characteristics of N-Phenyl Anthranilic acid on Mild steel in Acid medium
Abstract: Corrosion is the deterioration of metals by chemical interaction with their environment. One way of preventing corrosion is by the addition of corrosion inhibitors. In the present study easily available indicator N-Phenyl anthranilic acid was used as inhibitor for controlling the rate of corrosion of mildsteel in acid media. Weight loss measurements were carried out to study its efficacy. Different concentrations of N-Phenyl anthranilic acid in corrosive media showed good performance at room temperature. Adsorption mechanism of the inhibitor in acid medium on mildsteel coupons were also found out using weightloss measurement. All these studies revealed N-Phenyl anthranilic acid as promising candidate as inhibitor for preventing corrosion of mildsteel
