Title: A Phenomenological Study on Clinical Practice Experience of Nursing Students
Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand and analyze the practical experience of nursing students in the first clinical practice and to use the concept as a basic data for the development of efficient clinical practice support strategies. Methods: The subjects of this study were 8 students in the 3rd year of Nursing University who had their first clinical practice. The data were analyzed by van Kaam. Results: The practical experience of nursing students in the first clinical practice was derived from 27 technical expressions from 88 original sources and categorized into 8 common elements. The common elements are: pressure to punctuality , expectation of exciting experience , opportunity for self-maturity , applying theoretical knowledge , thinking of me as a future nurse , Feeling burdened by the pressure of mind and body , feeling of the importance of human relations , loneliness to be alone Conclusion: Based on the above results, it is suggested to try to develop a model for structuring the concept of nursing students support for practical activities in the first clinical practice.
