Title: MEXICAN IMMIGRANTS CHALLENGES FOR AMERICAN IDENTITY
Abstract: Illegal immigration is one of the main challenges for American statesmen in both the Republican and Democratic parties. Meanwhile, illegal immigration by Mexicans has become a major concern for Americans. Mexican immigration has been on the rise due to the unfavorable economic and employment situation in the country, as well as the ease and proximity of immigration to the United States. This has prompted many reactions, including at the White House, that President Trump has decided to build a wall at the 3400-kilometer in border between two countries. The key question raised in this regard is that what challenges Mexican immigrants have had for American identity. The present article is a descriptive-analytical one and uses the library method to investigate the mentioned question. The results of the study indicate that Mexican immigrants have favorable views of American soil because of their incompatibility with Anglo-Saxon culture. Given this historical approach, the reluctance to learn English and speak Spanish and to feel a sense of identity alongside other Latin American contexts has created a cultural divide and identity in America and they have led American identities, based on British whites and Protestants who share a common culture and have committed themselves to the political principles embedded in American independence and the Constitution, leading to dichotomy and disappearance in Spanish culture.
