Title: Situated Learning in <scp>CALL</scp> Teacher Education
Abstract: Situated learning explains that thinking and learning are inseparable from the physical and social contexts in which they occur. Although bound by this common assumption, there are two broad views of the situated nature of knowing and learning. Both guide teaching approaches that attempt to connect concepts and skills with the situations that give them meaning and value but realize this focus in different ways. This summary discusses views of situated learning related to situated cognition and communities of practice and considers their implications for computer‐assisted language learning (CALL) teacher education.
