Title: TRADE-OFF GAMES AND METHODS IN PARTICIPATORY DESIGN
Abstract: Based on a widely recognized concept of simulation game, trade-off game methodology has been creatively developed in some architectural and urban citizen-initiated projects for educative goals or pre-design community activities. This method can also be a tool for design decision making because it enables effective measurement of users' preferences in the process of simulating real constraints. The paper presents the state of knowledge and research experiment to show the actual expectations of users in the scope of the housing environment.
