Title: SAT-124 SUPPLEMENTATION OF VITAMIN D3, COMBINED WITH VITAMIN K2 IN PATIENTS WITH VITAMIN D DEFICIT AND CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASES (CKD) WITHOUT CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE(CRF)
Abstract: Calcitriol’s treatment of bone and mineral disorders(BMD) in CKD with CRF is indisputable. Some studies reported vitamin D influence on PTH in early-stage CKD, but opinions are variable. Synergistic treatments with vitamins D3 and K2 was launched to provide bone minerals in target tissues. K2 is most active in the bones and cardiovascular system(CVS), regulating matrix Gla protein(MGP) and osteocalcin(OC), the major proteins whose carboxylation depends on K2. When vitamin is deficient, some MGP and osteocalcin remain non-carboxylated, and some calcium is directed to form calcifications in CVS.
