Ectopic thyroid tissues most commonly are located in the midline in the cervical area. The presence of ectopic thyroid tissue in the lateral neck region is very rare. The simultaneous appearance of the orthotopic thyroid gland with lateral ectopic thyroid is extremely rare. We report a rare case of ectopic thyroid in the lateral cervical area in a patient with a normally located multinodular goiter. Although lateral ectopic thyroid tissue is rarely seen, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of lateral neck swellings.Read More
