The main frequency range of the ship rolling motion caused by the ocean wave is determined by the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and the steering angle is obtained within the range to obtain the roll angle generated by the ship under different rudder speed limits, and the ship is affected by the waves. The roll angle comparison is used to analyze the rudder reduction potential of the ship in different sea conditions under the rudder speed limit. The simulation experiment shows that the rudder damping potential of the ship increases with the increase of the rudder speed; under the maximum rudder speed of 10°/s, the ship has good rudder anti-rolling potential under common sea conditions; continue to increase the rudder speed the tendency of the rudder anti-rolling potential to increase with the rudder speed becomes slower.Read More
