Title: Controlling Chaos in a Six-Dimensional Power System Model
Abstract: This paper presents a simple fixed-time control scheme to stabilize a six dimensional chaotic power system. Based on fixed time stability theory, another fixed time stable system is proposed, and a fixed time sliding mode controller for stabilization of a second order system is designed. Based on the important idea that chaos in power system is caused by its excess energy, chaos control problem in the six dimensional power system is transformed into the stabilization of a second-order system. The control scheme not only overcomes singularity in a simple way, but also achieves fixed time convergence of controlled state variables. Compared with other chaos controllers in power systems, only one controller is needed to restore the six dimensional chaotic power system from chaotic state to equilibrium state. Simulation shows its effectiveness and robustness.
