Este matrimonio es conocido por algunas relaciones, pero en esta ocasion se analiza a la luz de la correspondencia del duque de Saboya con su embajador en Madrid con recomendaciones sobre la indumentaria y los regalos mas indicados para cumplimentar a la familia real espanola. Paralelamente, la corte espanola hizo un gran despliegue de tapicerias, vestidos y joyas que se reflejan en la correspondencia de varios de los ministros del rey. EnglishOne of the events in which the Spanish court made a greater display of luxury in the reign of Philip II was the marriage of his daughter Catalina Micaela to the Duke of Savoy held in Zaragoza in 1585. This marriage is known for some relations, but on this occasion is analyzed in light of the correspondence of the Duke of Savoy with his ambassador in Madrid with recommendations on clothing and gifts most suitable to compliment the Spanish royal family. At the same time, the Spanish court made a large display of tapestries, dresses and jewellery that are reflected in the correspondence of several of the king’s ministers.
