Title: Economic security in the context of cross–border cooperation: problems and prospects
Abstract: The subject of the research – the article is devoted to research of problems and prospects of development of cross–border cooperation. The urgency of the study is conditioned by the globalization of the world economic space, which manifests itself through volume scaling and diversification of forms of international interaction at all levels: national, local and regional.
The purpose of the article is to study the peculiarities and interconnection of transborder cooperation with Ukraine’s economic security in a globalized environment.
Methodology of work – the position of the theories of economic development and the concepts of entrepreneurship development on the basis of the transborder partnership. Formation of the hypothesis regarding the study of economic security in the context of the development of cross–border cooperation and justification of the proposal to strengthen the role of cross–border partnership development in ensuring economic growth and solving social problems.
The results of the work – special attention is paid to the analysis of priority areas of use of natural resources and socio–economic potential of Ukraine in the context of cooperation with neighboring states. The emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of the development of Euroregions as an innovative form of cross–border cooperation. Measures aimed at increasing economic security in cooperation with border areas are proposed and substantiated. It was noted that relations at the interregional level provide the basis for the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, which should be aimed at implementation of initiatives and innovative projects on border trade and simplified customs clearance procedures for subjects of cross–border cooperation.
Conclusions are the main factor in shaping the level of national security and as a result of the investment climate of the state there is a balance in the combination of interests of the participants of the border cooperation, Euroregions and the economic potential of the state.
