Abstract: Voltage source inverters are a very essential part of the microgrid system. For reliable and efficient operation of the distributed energy resources, robust design of voltage source inverter controller is necessary. There are several control techniques that can be utilized for controlling inverters during their parallel operation within the microgrid. Active and reactive power control (PQ control) and droop control strategy for inverter parallel operation within the microgrid is presented in this paper, which enhances the inverter output stability. PQ control and droop control strategy can effectively control the microgrid during nonautonomous and autonomous mode and also during the parallel operation of the inverters. Simulation results are presented to verify the PQ control and droop control strategy and a new stable operating point can quickly be found out by the microgrid under different operating conditions and voltage and frequency is well maintained in the specified range during load changes.
