Title: THE INFLUENCE OF THE PSYCHOTHERAPY EDUCATION PROCESS ON THE COMMUNICATIVE ABILITIES OF THE TRAINEE
Abstract: An established tool in psychotherapy is a dialogue between the psychotherapist and the client. The ability of the psychotherapist to lead a conversation on a way that will help the client to get rid of certain negative psychological or psychosomatic conditions - depression, anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, intrusiveness, obsession, etc. Or to free us from any negative perceptions of ourselves that impede the realization of our potential, degrade our quality of life, or generally make us feel poorly self-esteem, poor communication, social phobia, fear of public appearances, (continuous postponement of all current duties and activities), self-restraint and suppression of self-expression due to fears and concerns related to past failures, etc.The psychotherapist is the main carrier of the psychotherapeutic process. It is complicated to imagine what qualities should be of a psychotherapist who needs to know and „know how„ to do so that they can, through dialogue, generally help the client to go through all the troubles and change.Because communication skills are one of the psychotherapist's most important traits and directly affect the course and success of the psychotherapeutic process, it is important to study all the elements that influence their building. In this research, interest is turned to the educational process for psychotherapy and his impact on building communication skills. The institutes in which psychotherapy education is carried out, regardless of the modality to which they belong (EAP members), have educational programs that contain precisely prescribed: theoretical knowledge that the educator needs to master, practical skills and the skills that they need to acquire in the training. The educational program has a certain number of hours of supervision and hours of experiential passage through the psychotherapeutic process-work on oneself. In this research, the interest is focused on whether the educational process influences the communicative abilities of educators and in what way is the impact. In the research was used a “Qquestionnaire for communication skills” that was set at the beginning of the educational year of the students and again at the end of the year test-retest. After processing the collected data, it was determined that the educators experienced changes in the possession of communication skills, ie the level of possession of those skills increased significantly
