Title: RESPONSE APPROACH AND ANALYSIS METHOD FOR EXCESSIVE COOLING CONDITION OF PASSIVE PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR
Abstract: Due to the extremely freezing climate, the water temperature supplied by Component Cooling Water system will fall below the limit value user required, which causing an excessive cooling. During the excessive cooling condition, the temperature of component cooling water could fall below 4.8℃, thereby, the thermal shock will affect the operating reactor coolant pumps inevitably. This paper suggest an analysis method and operating strategy via heat transfer calculations and flow rate matching of the component cooling water HX, to deal with the excessive cooling condition of representative passive pressurized water reactor.
