This means the potential for professional knowledge development is at best, unrealised and at worst, fails to enable best safe practice for consumers. This paper presents data from a workshop conducted at a biennial, occupational therapy conference in Christchurch, New Zealand in September 2004. The workshop aimed to inspire the participants to progress along the pathway to professional publication. It presents the participants' reasons for wanting to publish, and the things that hold them back. The authors suggest that professional bodies have a role to play in providing structured learning opportunities to assist health practitioners and academics to write for publication.Read More
