Abstract:F2 seeds were derivatives of original F1 seeds that grown on a medium that contains
cellulose. Water hyacinth and cardboard contain cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignin that
can be used as F2 breed...F2 seeds were derivatives of original F1 seeds that grown on a medium that contains
cellulose. Water hyacinth and cardboard contain cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignin that
can be used as F2 breeding innovation medium and mycelium growth of oyster
mushroom and straw mushroom. This research was to know the mycelium F2 seeds
growth of white oyster mushroom and straw mushroom by using medium of water
hyacinth and cardboard. Water hyacinth was the most optimal medium in the mycelium
growth. This research used the experimental method by using completely random design
(CRD) factorial pattern that was implemented in two repetitions. Factor 1, types of
medium: M1 (cardboard 100g, M2 (water hyacinth 100g). Factor 2, F1 seeds : J1( F1
seeds of oyster mushroom), J2 (F1 seeds of straw mushroom). The parameters measured
were the length of mycelium, the dispersion, and the mycelium’s thickness on the oyster
mushroom and straw mushroom. The analysis technique used quantitative descriptive
analysis. Based on the results showed that the highest growth of mycelium F2 seeds of
oyster mushroom and straw mushroom can be found on the use of water hyacinth
medium that was 7 cm/day, the dispersion of mycelium was quite thick and tightly, the
thicknesses grew in medium level. The cellulose content influenced the mycelium
growth. However, the results of mycelium growth of F2 seeds of oyster mushroom and
straw mushroom are the lowest in the use of cardboard medium that only 4 cm/day, the
dispersion of mycelium was in medium level and irregular.Read More
