Abstract:Niuniuba debris flow is of viscous nature and the deposit fan has been developing markedly;the deposit depth varies with 12~25m.Impact and deposit processes in the deposit zone are intense,with the th...Niuniuba debris flow is of viscous nature and the deposit fan has been developing markedly;the deposit depth varies with 12~25m.Impact and deposit processes in the deposit zone are intense,with the the debris flow bursting forth every 3~5 years.To control the debris flow hazard,tunnelling in debris flow deposits(TDFD) was put forward in this paper.Further,the control scheme for the debris flow hazard was drawn up.Meanwhile,calculations for the structure were made.Taking the debris flow valley near TDFD as the simulating model,the variation features of max-stress in initial status and peak discharge status for deposits near TDFD were approached in detail by fluid-solid coupling simulation.The simulation shows that the appearing time for max-stress in TDFD and deposits near the TDFD delays 8 seconds or so after the emergence of the peak discharge of debris flow over the TDFD.The control engineering was constructed in 2003.The engineering had been tested by two debris flows in the past 4 years.Observations and investigations in real time field identified its remarkable validity in controlling debris flow hazard.Read More
